Vintage Tischlein Deck Dich Limited Margarete STEIFF Puppe Doll 1993 20"

Description

"The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Ass, and the Cudgel in the Sack" is a fairytale by the Brothers Grimm. The original German name is Tischlein deck dich, Goldesel und Knüppel aus dem Sack.
The tale is classified in the Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index as tale type ATU 563, "The Table, the Ass, and the Stick".
This is one of a series of fairy tales recreated by Margarete Steiff . with a doll and a related animal (Red Riding Hood and Wolf for example).
When they were discontinued, I bought this one at FAO  Schwartz on sale for 5.  The original price was 0, but the donkey had disappeared along the way.
The doll is the cutest one they had.  He has an incredible face and gorgeous blue eyes. He has the Steiff tag on his apron and the Steiff bear pin on his vest. His face is the original hard vinyl and his body, arms  and legs are cloth covered. His shoes actually have wooden soles.
The box is in very good condition but is large so will  require oversize postage fee.
