Vintage 1940's? Mystic Weather Forecaster Halloween Witch House Swirled Amber

You are buying the super cool "Mystic Weather Forecaster" that's in the pictures. It features an old witch on one side and 2 children on the other. It's made of a translucent amber / tortoise shell colored swirled plastic. I had trouble getting it to stand up on it's own - you might need to put it on a stand or some sort or hang it vertically somehow. There's a cardstock insert taped to the back that I did NOT remove. Great Halloween theme to the insert which is the interior of the witch's cottage.  It measures 5.5" tall x 4.5" wide x 1.25" deep. Instructions for use on back. I'm not sure it technically still works, though, honestly. The middle shaft that runs all the way from the top knob down to the bottom is a super thin piece of wood. It looks like it may have been repaired at one point. I don't know if the center shaft was wood or metal or what. I am selling it exactly as I found it!
I don't see a maker's mark or stamp anywhere, but it states: Made in U.S.A., Patent Pending.
Please keep in mind that I took pictures under a bright light against the bright white background so it will look a little more orange than it does in person.
