Wow! What an amazing bear! So big and soft and lovable!
This is Steiff’s wonderful “Teddy Boy”. He is a replica of a 1905 Steiff bear and is #2647 of a Limited Edition of 6,000.

“In 1904, Colonel Bob Henderson was given his first Bear, a Steiff Cinnamon Teddy. He named her Teddy Girl and over time as she accompanied Bob through his life and career, she became quite a revered Bear. So much so, that in 1994 she sold for £110,000 at auction (the highest price then paid for a Teddy Bear).
In 1905 after the production of their Cinnamon 1904 Bear, Steiff created a Blonde Bear of similar design. Today he is known as Teddy Boy in honor of Teddy Girl and her place in Teddy Bear History.
This 1905 Replica is from 1998 and is quite a rare piece to acquire. He is 50cm tall, fully jointed and has been sewn, from a luxurious, tufty and dense, blonde mohair with warm, wool felt paws and wood shavings. He has glossy, black eyes with a nutbrown hand stitched nose and mouth for a gentle appeal. This beautiful Bear would sit fabulously with the 1997 Teddy Girl Replica … finally united.”

My Teddy Boy is gorgeous. His golden mohair is soft and wavy and oh so huggable! He retains his brass ear button and ear tag (faded) which displays his EAN: 404320
His hand embroidered nose looks perfect as do the stitched “claws” on each paw.
I want you to be able to appreciate this beautiful bruin’s size so I have one photo showing him in a group with some of my other recent listings. You can easily see how he towers over them in this way.
Please Note:
There are two bites of felt missing… one that is 3mm on the right “hand” paw and one that is 4mm on the left “foot” paw (near the heel) – please look at close-up photos.
When he is seated, I do not feel that these detract from his good looks but they will help me determine a fair discounted price.
