  • Condition: This "Stormoguide" barometer was made by the Taylor Instrument Company.  It is made of brown/black Bakelite, has a 4-1/2" diameter dial, is 11" long, and stands 6-1/2" tall.  The barometer is made up of two separate pieces.  The dial piece is held in place by a thumbscrew on either side of the base supports, allowing the dial to adjust to different angles for better viewing.  This Stormoguide doesn't merely give the barometric pressure.  It provides a description of the forecasted weather, based on the barometric pressure and whether it is rising or falling.  From "Southeast Rains With High Winds", to "Generally Fair Probably Cool Today", to "High Winds & Colder", there are twenty forecasts in all.  The dial also displays a Patent date of  August-18-1914, and a copyright date of 1927.  This gem was retailed by the Famed Hunting Store Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York. This Stormoguide is a fantastic desk accessory.
