    Description

    This vintage Rex-Ray, model X-494, 8" table fan is in very good condition, with minor finish wear, and two mounting holes drilled in base. There is a slight bend at the top of the guard, but no broken welds. It has a quiet, smooth, high speed operation, and pushes a lot of air. It has been serviced, with a new cord and plug. It does not oscillate, but does rotate up and down. There is no on/off switch, when it is plugged in, it is on. A thumb switch could be spliced into the cord if desired. Rex-Ray fans were made by Knapp-Monarch, in St. Louis, Mo., and sold only at Rexall Drug Stores. It was advertised with a blue hammerloid finish, high velocity, dynamically balanced steel blades, and rubber feet (still on base). The label is faded, but reads 'Rex-Ray, X-494, Pat. no's. 2091158(1936), 2358585 (1944), 4 Amp, 115V, 60 Cy., A.C. Only'. It measures about 11" tall overall, and the cage is 8.75" in diameter.
