Description
This is a Peugeot Record Du Monde. I am the original owner and purchased the bike new in 1972 in Eugene Oregon. The bike had been lightly used for about 4 years, only used in fair weather never in the rain. The important fact about this bike is that it has been in storage for 45 years, So no rust and generally in very good condition without much wear.
There are a few dings here and there, but they are hardly noticeable because the paint is still in overall excellent condition.
It has a Simplex derailleur, 10 speed Alpine gears, Mafac brakes with cantilevers, and 27” Rigida rims with Specialized Touring K4 tires, Frame size is 58.5 cm (I am 6 feet tall but have long legs) Serial number is 2011284 The derailleur has “71” stamped on it but the SN denotes a 72 bike. Everything is functional and not broken only the cable sheathing would need replacement (some cracks) and probably the tires (although they are not flat). The bike has not been modified from new, and even has the pump and mini tool kit. Weight 28 lbs
