BiiSafe Buddy is a smart button which can be used for instant location sharing, messaging and as a panic button to send alarms to a defined group of people, by pressing the Buddy's button.
The tracking feature of the Buddy helps the user to take care of his/her valuables and track them down. The built-in pedometer counts steps and tracks activity.
BiiSafe Buddy is connected to a mobile device via Bluetooth connection. The locating features utilize the mobile phone's GPS connection and messages are sent through the mobile app.
Features
Circles
A circle consists of a group of people who are invited to join a circle in the BiiSafe Buddy app. ln circles, you can share your location, attached with a short message or an alarm message. Several circles can be created for different situations. One circle is chosen at a time for real-time messaging.
Circle members need to install the BiiSafe Buddy app on their mobile devices, but they do not have to own a BiiSafe Buddy. You have to create an account (with your email) to log-in to the app. After this own circles and messaging are available.
Location sharing
By pressing the Buddy's button twice, a message with the user's location wil l be sent to a chosen circle. The location sharing message can also be sent in the map view of the app.
The message attached to location information can be set in the app. Desired circle needs to be set active in the app beforehand. Messages of inactive circles can be seen from their log.
The locating feature utilizes the smartphone's GPS connection. The GPS connection is set on only when necessary, which saves battery and supports the longest possible battery life.
Alarm
An alarm message will be sent to a chosen circle when pressing and holding Buddy's button over three seconds. This allows inconspicuous alarming without touching a smartphone. The alarm can also be made on the mobile app.
The alarm message includes the user's map location. Attached message can be defined in the settings. A circle needs to be set active in the app beforehand. Messages and alarms of inactive circles can be seen from their log.
"Alarm active" feature needs to be set on from the Buddy's settings. Reacting model to an alarm needs to be defined by a user and the circle members.

KEEPING ITEMS SAFE
The app alerts when the Buddy attached to valuables is up to be left behind, unless the feature is disabled. When the Bluetooth connection between the Buddy and the mobile is lost, the Buddy flashes and makes a sound. The location is added to log, and if belonging to an active circle, a message is sent to others. Both Buddy and phone can be set to give an alert if the Bluetooth connection between them is lost.
TRACKING ITEMS
The location of a Buddy which was left behind will be marked on the map. The last known location of the Buddy can be viewed in the log in the app.
Track your valuables by tapping the icon of the Buddy you want to find The Buddy will flash and make sounds. The app shows the distance between the Buddy and the mobile device.

Activity tracking
Buddy has an inbuilt pedometer that allows it to track activity. Buddy tracks steps when it is kept with the user and the activity tracking function is enabled. When Buddy is kept with the user e.g. in a pocket, it measures the steps and tracks activity. Goals can be set for daily steps, distances or burnt calories. The app shows daily and monthly activity which can easily be compared with others.
