This is an 1880s document concerning the service of one person's (Ole Larson's) stud horse on another's mare. Unissued, it reads:
In consideration of the service of Ole Larson's Stallion ____ on my ___ mare, ___ years old, named ___ which said service done on this date I hereby acknowledge, I, ___ of the town of ___ county of ___, State of Minnesota, promise and agree to pay said Ole Larson for said service on or before the ___ day of ___ A. D. 188_, the sum of ___ Dollars.
The contract continues and there are places for signatures and seals. Including the stub, which folds off to the left, it measures about 12" x 6". Clean condition.
