    Description

For sale is an advertisement for W.C. McGavock of Springfield, Illinois. McGavock, who is pictured, managed auction sales; he specialized in Aberdeen-Angus cattle. McGavock also owned a horse, Boulevard, that finished fourth in the 1880 Kentucky Derby. This ad was published in the December 16, 1903, issue of The Breeder's Gazette magazine. It measures 10 1/2 by 15 inches and is in very good condition; there are two tears along the lower right edge that do not touch McGavock's photo. On the back is an ad for Finch Brothers of Joliet, Illinois, who imported and bred prize-winning mares, fillies and stallion colts. It has a couple of pieces of tape alonmg the left edge that can be matted out. This page deserves to be framed and displayed.
